FED Events – Page 2 – Growing Disciples

In a cleanup at my place I’ve come across an audio cassette featuring the song “Face to Face” by Andrew Tanner, written and recorded in 1983 to promote the first About FACE project. I was the project co-ordinator along with Janet Mugford (Hoad) who chaired the task group and then took over from me as project officer for the second phase of the project.

The recording was produced by the SA Synod on behalf of the Assembly of the Uniting Church. Andrew owns the copyright of the song itself. Yes this is from a dodgy cassette. I think I’ve got a better version somewhere.

About FACE is an ongoing program of the Uniting Church, and now has a sole focus on relationships with indigenous Australians. About FACE is auspiced by Formation, Education and Discipleship.

The Assembly Formation, Education and Discipleship (FED) Working Group and the Assembly Mission & Evangelism Network (AMEN) are hosting a joint Colloquium on formation, discipleship and mission in Melbourne on Wednesday 18, November, 2015. The Colloquium is an opportunity for the sharing of research, innovation and reflection around the connections between formation, discipleship and mission in relation to the Uniting Church.

The purposes of the Colloquium are to encourage critical thinking, foster dialogue, and provide encouragement and inspiration both in terms of thinking and practice.

Venue: Melbourne Korean Church, Malvern

Time: 4.00 – 9.30 pm (including dinner at Melbourne Korean Church)

The program will include a plenary presentation on the theme followed by three rounds of concurrent presentations (50 minutes each – presentation plus discussion.)

Proposals for papers are sought from those engaged in practice and research, including tertiary students, ministers, researchers, lay leaders, other church workers.
