“A Season of Teaching and Learning” is an initiative of the Uniting Church’s National Working Group on Doctrine. It is a general encouragement for the church to engage in teaching and learning about the Christian faith.
As part of the season, they have produced three study books, all available from Mediacom.
The books are
“Christianity in the 21st Century” by Rev Dr Avril Hannah-Jones
- Living in the modern (postmodern) world
- Living as one faith among many
- Living as part of God’s good creation
- Living as Christian radicals
“Jesus Christ according to the Basis of Union” by Rev Dr Geoff Thompson
(Four studies, titled Study one, etc…)
“Living the Christian Life” by Rev Dr Rod Horsfield
- Considering conversation: whom do you serve?
- Baptism: Remember who you are
- With glad and generous hearts: How worship nurtures our life in Christ
- The Lord’s Supper: eating and drinking with Jesus
- Living the Christian life: Leading a life worthy on the calling
- Committed to peacemaking: A discipleship imperative
The books are $11 each and are 40-50 pages. Samples of the studies can be downloaded here.
I’ll shortly be writing a review of each book.
