Here’s another About FACE gem. Maidie Graham wrote “Strong Enough For Peace” after going to the Philippines on About Face in 1984. We recorded this song of hers in the lounge room at Clifton St., Hawthorn sometime in 1984. It features her younger sister I think (?) and Merryn Barker on vocals and someone (Merryn?) on improvised flute. That’s me on guitar and tambourine. Trying to work out which Maton this was, but I think it must have been the limited edition Koa wood FG-100 that was broken several years later by a removalist. Recorded on the Tascam 4-track that later ended up with Keith Ellison. The song was in the NCYC ’85 songbook and the NCYC ’87 songbook. Great song. Yes, it was the 80’s folk revival.
